City of Athens to see in New Year with free events, Thiseio concert

The City of Athens Symphonic Orchestra, followed by Greek singers Nikos Portokaloglou, Iota Nega and Gerasimos Andreatos will see in the New Year in central Athens on Tuesday.

The concert is part of a day of free celebrations organized by City Hall.

There will be live music and other events in the center of the capital from 2 p.m.

The City of Athens choir will perform at Syntagma Square, starting at 8 p.m., while jazz-fusion band Mode Plagal will play on Ermou Street at 9 p.m.

The main event will start near Thiseio electric railway station at 10 p.m.

A firework show will mark the arrival of the New Year.
