Man arrested at Crete port after artifacts found

A 43-year-old man was detained in the Cretan port of Iraklio on Thursday after police found several artifacts in his car and home.

The items confiscated by officers include a bracelet, amphorae and two statues.

They were to be examined by state archaeologists to determine their provenance and value.

Meanwhile, the suspect was to face a prosecutor on charges of violating laws for the protection of ancient artifacts.
