Firefighters were battling a blaze on forestland in Karystos, southern Evia on Wednesday afternoon
It was unclear what caused the fire which broke out in the area of Marmari.
A team of 24 firefighters manning 11 engines battled the blaze aided by six water-dropping aircraft and a helicopter.
No residential areas had been threatened by mid-afternoon.
Another blaze in Marathon, northeast of Athens, had been brought under partial control by the afternoon.
