Quake shakes northwest Turkey

An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.0 on the Richter scale was recorded in northwest Turkey on Wednesday afternoon according to estimates by the European Mediterranean Seismological Center.

The earthquake’s focal point was identified approximately 200 kilometers east of Istanbul, with the city feeling the tremors.

There are currently no reports of injuries or damaged buildings.
