Mantelis faces trial over Siemens bribery scandal
Former Transport Minister Tasos Mantelis has been indicted to trial, along with another four people, in connection with the Siemens cash-for-contracts scandal, according to a decision by the Council of Appeals Court Judges that was made public Friday.
Mantelis faces charges of accepting bribes and money laundering in connection with a donation of 450,000 German Marks (the equivalent of 230,000 euros) that he allegedly accepted from Siemens between 1998 and 2000.
A date for Mantelis’s trial is to be set soon.
