Rising Music Stars | Athens | February 9 & 20, March 8
The Athens Concert Hall has three exciting shows lined up for its Rising Stars series, in which it showcases emerging musical talent as part of an initiative by the European Concert Hall Organization (ECHO) that dates back to 1995. Kicking things off on February 9 will be award-winning percussionist Vanessa Porter in a soundscape created in cooperation with Daniel Mudrack to explore different emotional and mental states. She is followed on February 20 by Ukrainian violinist Diana Tishchenko, who already earned a following in Greece with a haunting performance on the sacred island of Delos last summer. The series ends on March 8 with the Frankfurt-based Aris Quartett playing Mozart, Schubert and multi-award-winning Japanese composer Misato Mochizuki. For details and tickets, visit megaron.gr.
