Boston bridge lit up in colors of Greek flag
The Longfellow Bridge in Boston was lit up in blue and white on Wednesday, in honor of the 200th anniversary of the Greek War of Independence.
The steel rib arch bridge spanning the Charles River was built by Edmund Wheelwright, a prominent architect in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
The celebratory initiative includes the lighting of 10 bridges and six Town Halls, including Boston City Hall.
