Greek minister proposes EU task force for Ukrainian students
Greek Education Minister Niki Kerameus has proposed the creation of a special EU task force to support pupils and students from Ukraine, both inside and outside its borders.
In a letter to her French counterpart and chair of the European Union’s Council of Education Ministers, Jean-Michel Blanquer, Kerameus noted that the access of children and young people to education has been significantly compromised.
According to UNICEF, the Russian invasion has already removed 350,000 Ukrainian children from school structures, while millions more are expected to be deprived of education.
Kerameus has informed her Ukrainian counterpart Serhiy Shkarlet of her proposal.
