Model schools set to multiply
The network of model schools in Greece is expanding, giving new impetus to hitherto neglected vocational education.
More specifically, the Education Ministry is planning new standard vocational high schools (PEPAL) throughout all regions of the country for the next academic year. Great importance is also being attached to postsecondary education and training at vocational training institutes (IEK), which many university graduates turn to for skills that will lead to a job.
All in all, 20 new PEPAL schools are currently being designed to be added to the six established in the current academic year in Argos, Epanomi, Perama, Xanthi, Igoumenitsa and Trikala.
