Consumer credit had been expanding at a 30% clip during the first half of the year, boosted by strong consumer demand and car sales, up 6.5% during the first six months of 2024.
Soap and cosmetics company Papoutsanis’ first-half sales dropped 1.4%, to €31.7 million, in the first half, but pretax profit rose 18%, to €12.1 million, the company announced Friday. Exports accounted for 53% of turnover.
Greek consumers spent approximately €35 billion on online purchases in 2023, with the largest portion – €17.5 billion – going towards physical goods.
