Prosecutor wants guilty verdict for girl’s mother

The prosecutor in the trial over the sexual abuse and exploitation of a 12-year-old girl in Kolonos, Athens recommended that the judges in a mixed jury find the child’s mother guilty, after a two-month process that took place behind closed doors.

Judges returned the case file against Father Antonios Papanikolaou, the founder of the Ark of the World children’s charity, which is under investigation for child abuse and financial crimes, to the investigator on Wednesday, requesting further interrogations to be conducted.




Police make two arrests for child sexual abuse

Police have announced the arrest over the weekend of two men on separate charges of sexually abusing minors. On Saturday, a 55-year-old Greek national was arrested on a warrant issued after an investigation found he had attempted to rape his daughters while her mother was not at home.
